Sanctification
To sanctify is to make holy, set apart or separate. This teaching of God is of primary importance for living fully in Messiah, Christ. Those who accept and believe in God will soon begin to separate themselves from things that are not of Him, and that separation is the core of sanctification. It is not about earning God's favor, but about the life He gives us drawing us away from what is not His. This section explores what Scripture means by holiness and being set apart. Its study, "Sanctification in General," explains how believing in God leads to separating from what is not of Him. You will also find the theme throughout NakarYahu: the Hebrew root qadash, meaning to set apart or consecrate, lies behind the word for the Sanctuary in the Law of Moses, and the prophecy "Don't Fear Death" speaks of being separated from the world through dying in the Son. If you want to understand what it means to live a holy life before Yahweh, start here.
