Satan
Satan, the Adversary, is the first and primary opponent of both Yahweh and His people. Scripture gives him many titles, including the Devil, the great Dragon, the old Serpent and the deceiver of the whole world (Revelation 12:9). His name comes from the Hebrew word satan, meaning "adversary, opponent, one who withstands." He tries to stand in the way of what Yahweh has planned, and so he stands in the way of everyone who follows Him. This section looks at who Satan is, what he does, and how the people of God can overcome him day by day, until he is thrown into the Lake of Fire forever (Revelation 20:10). The study "The Story of Job" exposes his nature and methods as seen in Job's story. This category sits within Spiritual Warfare, where you will also find teaching on the name of Yahweh, the blood of Christ, the sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith, the weapons God gives us to stand firm.
