Theft

"You shall not steal" (Exodus 20:15). Theft is one of the sins named in the Ten Words that Yahweh gave to Moses on the mountain. Paul lists the sins that are "contrary to the sound doctrine" (1 Timothy 1:10), and the Ten Words show that God cares how we treat what belongs to others. Taking what belongs to someone else breaks trust with our neighbor and shows that we are not trusting God to provide.
